Pure Austrian Design is a survey of contemporary Austrian design culture which for the first time unites various areas of Austria's design scene in their entire heterogeneity.  The book, supported by a series of planned exhibitions and a virtual platform on the web, seeks to stimulate the dialogue between the different interest groups in order to promote the search for 'identity creating values of a local but open-minded culture of design.'  Austrian design has tradition and a passion for natural materials & contains a lot of symbolism and imagination. Pure Austrian Design focuses on indoor & outdoor furniture and lighting, two sectors with an especially large local tradition recognized for its meticulous craftsmanship and singularity. Accompanying the book is a CD soundtrack of carefully selected audio tracks from important Austrian labels called AudioFurniture.
